Athletic sponsorship

GBTC's primary mission is to support athletes interested in competing in track & field, cross country, and road racing. We encourage athletes interested in competing to consider joining one of our training groups.

GBTC has a tiered system of sponsorship standards, which appear below. Athletes who achieve the top tier will receive uniforms including warm-ups, and the club will pay for their entry to most club races (track, road Grand Prix, XC) for the year. People who achieve the second tier receive entry to select club races. Once an athlete achieves one of the performance standards, they will be sponsored at that level for 12 months, with the 12 month clock starting again any time they achieve the standard. For further information, contact GBTC president Bruce Davie (drbruced@gmail.com) or the coaches Tom Derderian (tderderi at ix.netcom.com) or Dave Callum (david_callum at yahoo.com).

GBTC also provides travel support to many club members to attend events such as National track & field events, National cross country events, and marquee road races. The club also provides racing uniforms to all competing members and additional team clothing to those athletes who represent the club at major events. GBTC offers additional racing support for female athletes through the Margaret Bradley Scholarship.
