  • How do I join GBTC?

To join GBTC, fill out the on-line application form and pay the membership dues by check or credit card.

  • How can I learn more about the club before I join?

We recommend that you come to the track and run with the club for two or three weeks to meet the coaches, meet the other members, and just see how you like the club. However, since the track can be a busy place, a new member might get lost in the bustle. To make sure you have the best possible experience at your first few practices, please contact us by email (gbtc.membership@gmail.com) before you show up. Be sure to tell us a little about your ability, your experience, and what you are training for.

  • How much does it cost to join GBTC?

GBTC membership dues are $90 for the first year and $75  per calendar year after that. (Members who join in October, however, are valid members through December of the next year.) Members joining for the first time receive a GBTC racing singlet.

GBTC recommends that club members also join the USA Track and Field association. GBTC is a member of the national and New England associations of USATF, the governing bodies for track and field, long-distance running, and race walking. Most club races require athletes to be a member of USATF in order to compete. Annual USATF New England membership is $30.

  • What does GBTC membership include?

Being a GBTC member links you to one of the most distinguished running communities in the New England area. Members have access to an extensive network of competitive runners, experienced coaches, and the best local and national track & field, road, and cross country competitions. GBTC has at least one regularly scheduled and coached weekly track workout (on Tuesdays at 7pm) as well as frequent (weekly) races and competitions. Members joining for the first time receive a GBTC racing singlet. Some athletes also receive financial support towards travel and entry fees for select club competitions.  GBTC sponsors athletes based on a tiered system of performance standards.

  • What is the GBTC uniform?

The official GBTC uniform consists of a GBTC singlet paired with black bottoms (shorts, tights, pants, etc.) At cold-weather races, wear your singlet over any long-sleeve layers. At summer races, some women race in official GBTC sports bras, which can be purchased for $32 at the GBTC store. Wear your uniform at all races, even if you’re the only GBTC member competing!
