GBTC Annual Fundraiser

We watched the 2012 Olympic Track and Field competition together at Sissy K’s on August 4, and cheered on Team USA with friends and a few drinks. There was an auction and a raffle with some great prizes and a fantasy track and field prediction pool with cash prizes.

What were the results?

There were only 4 correct time/mark predictions. Coach Dave/Team Callum had the only correct winning time prediction for the Women’s 100m. Coach Rod, Bo Wang and Kevin Sheehan correctly predicted the Women’s Marathon time. Our coaches really know their stuff.
In a stroke of either genius or laziness Jacob took all his predictions verbatim from Sports Illustrated and did not even bother with winning time/mark predictions. This worked out for him as he came in 3^rd.
Brian McNamara correctly predicted the gold medalist for 6 of the 9 events and correctly predicted the complete medal stand for Women’s Discus and Men’s 100m. Remarkably he sent in his predictions on August 1^st, without the benefit of knowing how athletes fared in the preliminary rounds. Congratulations Brian! We will be getting a check to you shortly.
