2005 Margaret L. Bradley reception
April 16, 2005
The club celebrated the inaugural presentation of the Margaret L. Bradley award at a special reception just two days before the Boston Marathon. Katie Wales, who ran 2:54 last year in Chicago, received the award on Saturday and raced the marathon on Monday, standing in for Adrien Ricci who was injured at the last moment. The reception was held at the home of president Bruce Davie and membership director Christy Bonstelle near Central Square. There were copious amounts of food and wine, and a showing of a new documentary film, “Run Like A Girl,” by Charlotte Lettis Richardson. The club also raised money for the endowment that will fund the award in future years, and ended the evening with over $1000. You can still make a contribution to the endowment, just drop a note to our club president Bruce Davie for more details.
