The GBTC women's team took 2nd place at the Bedford Rotary Memorial 12K, pushing them past the Boston Athletic Association on the year's USATFNE Grand Prix circuit to second place, a point behind today's winning team, Central Mass Striders. Gretchen Chick ran third in the open women's race with Kyle Linn MacQueen in 10th and Jane-Marie Ovanin in 12th.

The GBTC men's team took 4th, also eclipsing the BAA who failed to finish a 5th runner so had no score. The men are now tied with CMS for first place. Three new men raced for the club for the first time today. In order of finish, Dan Mazzocco a recent Penn State grad working at Reebok but planning to go into teaching. Will Feldman studying at Suffolk University and Tim Stickney who comes from a background of cross-country ski racing.

These Grand Prix races function as championship races so we can consider the GBTC teams the equal to the best in New England. Winning the entire series is perfectly possible. The only pall on the day was Nate Freese encountering allergy/breathing problems about 6 km into the race. We had expected him to race with our top runner, Dan Smith.
