At the Tufts meet today Tara Vance won the 10,000 in 37:45 and Dan Smith in 32:07. Papadopoulos placed second. Meghan Lynch had hamstring problems and dropped out.

Snowflake Classic at Tufts on Saturday

GBTC athletes will start action on Saturday with the women's 10,000m followed by the men's. Our athletes should be prominent in these events. Meghan Lynch will test her fitness in anticipation of her acceptance into the elite field at the Mt S.A.C. Relays in California in mid-April. Others in the 10,000m will represent the club in the Boston Marathon.
Three of our athletes at this meet graduated from Tufts: Tara Vance, Matt Lyons, and Anna Shih.

Meghan Lynch tuned up for her bid to race in the prestigious Mt S.A.C. track meet in California in mid-April by placing 3rd in the very green St. Partick's day race in Holyoke, MA. She is winner of this year's Margaret Bradley award. Kevin Somers took 13th overall.

Men 2nd, Women 4th in New Bedford

On a perfect running day GBTC men took second place in what we think is the finest combined time in modern club history. The favored Boston Athletic Association won. GBTC's Nate Freese battled the BAA runners for most of the race but in final sprint David Bedoya caught him. Dan Smith finished steps ahead of Giannis Papadopoulos with Matt Haringa bearing down 80 meters behind. All ran their personal bests.
In the women's team competition Sara Donahue raced to fourth among the women's open field with Gretchen Chick and Christy Bonstelle completing the team for 4th place.

GBTC runners brave wind and snow at Stu's 30k

GBTC runners performed well in the 30 km, in spite of snowy footing and headwinds, which bodes well for the team performance in the Boston Marathon.
