Meghan Lynch receives Bradley award for 2009

Margaret Bradley award recipient Meghan Lynch is congratulated by award committee members Katie Famous and Laura Hayden, and by GBTC President Bruce Davie. Photo by GreaterSnap

It is our pleasure to recognize Meghan Lynch as the 2009 recipient of the annual Margaret Bradley Award. Meghan is a 2008 graduate of Mt. Holyoke College who is currently working as a clinical research coordinator in Boston. During college, she excelled in the 5K, earning the school record in the indoor 5K in a time of 18:12. Additionally, she notched times of 23:13 (6K) and 38:15 (6 mile). Following graduation, she has quickly become a leading member of the GBTC distance squad. This past December, she finished second for the GBTC women at the frigid Club Cross Country National Championships in Spokane, WA. Impressively, she has lowered all of her PRs in less than a year: 18:09 (5K), 22:36 (6K) and 6 mile (35:08). Meghan is an enthusiastic team player who attributes much of her recent success to having teammates push her both at practice and on race day. At 22 years of age, Meghan looks to have much success in front of her. Her goals include qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon (a goal shared by Margaret) and a 17 minute 5K. Along the way, however, she plans to enjoy working with her teammates to help reach shared goals. Like Margaret, she is enthusiastic, a fierce competitor, and a selfless teammate.
