Women Win Again!

Today in Carlisle, MA on a hot, humid, hilly, rocky, rooty, narrow, serpentine, and crowded course 184 runners raced off a dusty start to jam into a single track. The club's Laura Hayden took a tumble to roll in the dirt but bounced up and back into the race. The club women won beating teams from SISU and Tewksbury. Emily Raymond led the team in her usual getup of elastic tuffed hair and turquoise sunglasses followed by Liz Crowley a recent grad of Colgate who works at Children's Hospital and will soon live in Brookline. Tumbling Laura ran in next followed by new member Elizabeth Eiseman who recently graduated from Wellesley College.

Two new men joined the team for this steamy race, Dan Hall, a grad of Bowdoin and second year med student at BU and Jim Croke who is returning to racing after a long layoff from glorious high school seasons. Ryan Kerrigan led the men with help from Brad Kozel and Mike Panas, but the other teams proved to be much too strong.

So now in the USATFNE Cross Country Grand Prix after two races the GBTC women are tied with SISU for first but the men look to be in fourth place.

The next Grand Prix x-c race will be the GBTC hosted Topsfield Cross Country Festival on Sept 30.
