Williams and Smith at Brown 4/14/07

Although Sherita Williams has already qualified for the USATF Outdoor National Championships based on her indoor results, her training outdoors in Providence is coming along nicely with "spring" marks already approaching the elite class we've come to expect. By almost 2 feet, Sherita Williams won the triple jump with 13.19m (43-3.25) over Tamara Highsmith of UConn. Ray Smith was in a tight battle at the top in the long jump with more than half the participants within inches of each other, the top three including athletes from Brown and UConn separated by less than 3 inches! Ray finished third in a field of eleven with 6.70m (21-11.75). In two weeks, the highly anticipated trip to Penn Relays!
