Greater Boston Teams set for Patriots Battle
Boston, MA April 11, 2007
The Greater Boston Track Club open teams are ready for a top showing in the Boston Marathon club team competition. The GBTC in the late 1970s had teams better than counties. But it is a different world now. Our men's team won in 2005 and women's in 2004. Our team members who are entered this year can run faster. Top men, Jeremy Borling, Kibrom Temelso, and David Bedoya —all capable of sub 2:30, will join last year's veterans Lucas Woodward and Kit Wells.
For women Emily Raymond has been running at her highest lifetime level and has earned a place in the elite start. Last year's team leader Megha Doshi is in the best shape of her life as is Lynn Johnson. All have broken three hours, (Raymond with a PR of 2:52) and are likely to do so again. Laura Hayden has also demonstrated sub-three hour fitness. Her best to date is moments slower than three hours.
