The GBTC’s sprints squad headed to Philadelphia last weekend for the 125th running of the Penn Relays Carnival. Competition began with the Men’s and Women’s 4x100m relay events on Friday, April 25th. Despite the storm delays experienced, the Men’s team (Dhvanil Nanshah, Bryant Madrigal, Nick Aleles, and Henry Morales) was able to finish 12th out of the 18 teams competing, and clocked a time of 45.52. The Women’s team (Rebecca Gonsalves-Lamontagne, Mary Foday, Chantel Sayegh, and Katie Hitchcock-Smith) raced shortly after the Men, and finished 2nd out of the three teams competing, earning silver medals in the event, and finishing in a time of 53.11.

GBTC returned to action on Saturday, April 26th with Ernixh Harris racing in the 400m and finishing in 58.57. Later in the afternoon, D’Mahl McFadden competed in the 110m Hurdles event, garnering not only a PR time of 14.38, but a silver medal as well. The Men’s 4x400m squad wrapped up the day, finishing in 3:35.63.

Overall it was a great weekend for GBTC and the team is now looking ahead to the remainder of the Outdoor Track Season.
