The GBTC men’s and women’s teams kicked off the USATF New England Grand Prix Series with strong performances by both squads at the New Bedford Half Marathon on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
The men’s team, led by David Metzger (1:09:06), finished 2nd overall out of the 12 men’s teams competing. Ryan Woolley also posted a sub-1:10 performance, finishing in 1:09:40. Teammates Eric Mendoza (1:10:54), Shaun Dever (1:11:17), and Bobby Giuliani (1:11:50) rounded out the team score.
The women’s team, led by Shannon Trant (1:24:19), finished in 3rd place overall out of the six women’s teams competing. Teammates Erin Lohrenz (1:24:30), Caroline Turner (1:28:59), Jenna Castro (1:29:18), and Taylor Krajewski (1:29:21) rounded out the team score.
The next USATF New England Grand Prix race is the Frank Nealon Boston Tune-Up 15K on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Upton, MA.
