GBTC Seeking Sprints & Field Coach

After two successful seasons under the guidance of Coach Elaina Zizza, the Greater Boston Track Club is seeking a new leader for the Sprints & Field group. Coach Zizza will be leaving the club to pursue a graduate degree. Ideal candidates are experienced individuals seeking a part-time position with the club, and are qualified to provide training to post-collegiate and masters athletes in the Greater Boston area.

Job Description & Expectations

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to:

Provide a long term plan and workouts for sprinters and jumpers, attend and administer two workouts per week between September and July, attend meets that have been chosen as focal points of the season, and distribute discretionary funding to maximize club performance. Sprint Coach will report to the Head Coach and work closely with all other coaches to develop an indoor and outdoor track schedule, culminating in championship meets.

Additionally, the Sprint Coach will be expected to perform administrative duties associated with meet entry, provide weekly recaps to social media coordinator throughout the competition season, act as an ambassador for the club in interactions with college coaches and athletes in order to develop and maintain recruiting relationships, and contribute expertise to other club activities as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.

Preferred qualification:  USATF Coaching Certification

Additional Information:

  • Compensation commensurate with experience.

  • Coach will serve at the discretion of the Board of Directors

  • Subject to a CORI test.
