Women win USATF-NE 5km, men second

Today in Cambridge in the USATF-NE Grand Prix the GBTC teams placed highly amongst the field at the USATF-NE Grand Prix An Ras Mor 5k yesterday. The women won the open team competition overall with Nicole Casey blazing through the line in 17:40 for 4th Overall. Not far behind Nicole was Aly Millett (6th in 18:00) and Kerri Leonhardt (8th in 18:04). Alyse Rocco and Theresa Fritz-Endres rounded out the scoring team for the women.

On the men’s side, the club took a very close 2nd to the Whirlaway Racing team. Jonathan Charlesworth led the team with a 6th overall finish in 15:14. Ryan Irwin and Chris Kibler also placed in the top ten with 15:21 and 15:23 finish times respectively. Dan Lewis and David Metzger finished up the GBTC scoring men’s team with times of 15:37 and 15:38. Just 24 seconds separated the top five men. That moves the men up to unofficially third and the women up to fourth in the overall standings. Full results here.

In the same morning a GBTC team of men ran the NH to MA ES 20 miler placing five in the top ten. MacDonald, Walsh, Jurek, Hemingway, and Lyons. Full results on also on coolrunning.
