Amongst the two meet records and the 2013 world-leading 200m time from Friday’s women’s meet, GBTC highlights include Victoria Barnaby’s 8 second PR in the 3000 in 10:09.37! New GBTC sponsored-athlete Jacqui Barrett (graduate of UMLowell) made her debut with the club in the Shot Put with a heave of 13.96m (45-09.75) which was good for 5th place overall. Jacqui opened her season with a 14.58m throw at Tufts two weeks ago, so we will certainly see big numbers from her as the season progresses. The men’s meet is on the board with the DMR team of Ryan Irwin (3:05), Dave Cahill (52.8), Brian Robbins (1:56) and Charly Allan (4:25) finishing in 4th overall with a 10:20.44. The men’s meet will continue on Saturday after the women’s DMR starts things off at 10:45am.

About GBTC
The Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC) is a friendly and competitive team with approximately 200 members. We compete at the national, regional, and local levels in cross country, track and field, and trail running. GBTC provides a team-oriented, structured training environment for athletes of many abilities who train for everything from jumps and throws to sprints, road races, cross country, and marathons. Members train for several specific competitions throughout the year, and financial support is provided to compete at some major events. We sponsor athletes based on a tiered system of performance standards, and the club is a designated USATF Elite Development Club.
