Alex Engel ran his best ever early season 400m, winning yesterday at the Boston University mini-Meet #3. He ran a neat 48.48s and came back in the 200m with a win in 22.26s. Milers Chris Kibler and Ryan Irwin doubled up in their own way—with miles in 4:18.18 for Kibler in the first and fastest section, then Irwin cruised alone to win the second section in 4:17.23. Both came back to run the 800m. Also in the 800m, Allison McCabe continued her winning and personal record streak with a PR in 2:13.49.
GBTC in action!
The Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC) is a friendly and competitive team with approximately 200 members. We compete at the national, regional, and local levels in cross country, track and field, and trail running. GBTC provides a team-oriented, structured training environment for athletes of many abilities who train for everything from jumps and throws to sprints, road races, cross country, and marathons. Members train for several specific competitions throughout the year, and financial support is provided to compete at some major events. We sponsor athletes based on a system of performance standards, and the club is a designated USATF Elite Development Club.
