Congratulation to GBTC’s Tom Derderian on being elected USA Track & Field – New England (USATF-NE) President at Sunday night’s annual meeting. He will be joined on the Board of Governors by fellow GBTC members Victoria Barnaby (Vice President) and Will Feldman (Athlete Rep). For an early, candid, and unofficial recap of the meeting check out Level Renner’s report. Toni Revis placed this local development into the greater context beyond New England’s borders. Runners World also helped to spread the news, while only crickets chirped at New England Runner. Special thanks and congratulations to Level Renner’s Eric Narcisi for his hard work, and being elected decisively as USATF-NE Secretary.
The Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC) is a friendly and competitive team with approximately 200 members. We compete at the national, regional, and local levels in cross country, track and field, and trail running. GBTC provides a team-oriented, structured training environment for athletes of many abilities who train for everything from jumps and throws to sprints, road races, cross country, and marathons. Members train for several specific competitions throughout the year, and financial support is provided to compete at some major events. We sponsor athletes based on a tiered system of performance standards, and the club is a designated USATF Elite Development Club.
