GBTC’s Men & Women defended their USA Track & Field New England (USATF-NE) Outdoor Track & Field team titles yesterday at Regis College. GBTC athletes claimed a staggering 20 individual and relay victories, and broke 2 club records en-route to claiming the team titles! With yesterday’s victories GBTC’s reign as New England Outdoor Track & Field Champions has been extended to 13 consecutive years for the men and 8 for the women.

Special congratulations to our new club record holders Brian Freitas and Crystal Bourque! Brian lowered the club record to 52.99 in the 400m hurdles while Crystal launched the hammer record out to 59.12 meters. A late report tells us that Brian broke the 400mIH record a bit more at the east regional meet the week before. And Lisa Wilson actually broke the club record by even more with her 61.88m throw at the Cal St. Last Chance meet earlier in the season.

From the USATF-NE website: “Only one athlete achieved a “bonus” performance – Kyle MacQueen (GBTC) in the 1500 (she also was the winner in the 5000).” Full results are available here.
