Bedford, NH, —May 19th, USATF-NE Grand Prix #3
GBTC women placed third with Raymond, Novick, and Lynch, and men placed fourth with Temelso, Young, Haringa, MacNamara, and Gomes while masters took fifth with Phelps, McLucas, Cattarin, Ross, and Derderian. GBTC men felt a shock and maybe pride being beaten by the upstart WMDP (Western Massachusetts Distance Project) The project is formed of many GBTC released runners and former runners and recruits from UMass Amherst. These runners were representing GBTC, but not living in the Boston area so got the idea to try their own club. They have powder blue uniforms and we wish them well. GBTC men and women are now each standing in second place in the series.

Alex Gomes and Matt Haringa lead most of the field over 12 km. Gomes will later succumb to sickness and fall back. (Notice the lurking powder blue shirts) Photo by our friend Krissy Kozolsky
