HFC men decisively beat the GBTC team, making the season record 2 to 1 in their favor. Their green uniforms surrounded the red-clad GBTC runners and grew on them like moss in the damp woods of New Hampshire. Will Feldman fought hard from the front but could not thwart their green monsterness. After the race the winning team explained to me that HFC stands for Hungry For Certain as they scoffed up plates of fresh-baked apple crisp and washed it down with native cider. I wondered, hungry for food or hungry for victory?
Victoria Barnaby continued her barnstorming in rural live-free-or-die land leading the GBTC women to victory.
The men’s team is second in the series point system, 39 to 42. GBTC’s Chris Hine is second in the individual scoring and Margaret Bradley award winner, Victoria Barnaby, is first. All the series details are here: http://www.nexcgrandprix.org/
